*Review of the best according to the editors. About selection criteria. This material is subjective, not an advertisement and does not serve as a guide to purchase. It is necessary to consult with a specialist before making a purchase.
Although the modern market in every way pushes the consumer to the constant pursuit of trends, there is always a category of reasonable people who are guided primarily by the practicality of purchase when choosing goods. This also concerns a choice of wearable electronics. Expertology magazine offers you an overview of the most practical smartphones in different categories available for sale in the Russian Federation as of April 2022.
To begin with we outline the criteria that guided our experts, choosing the most adequate models in the review. We allocated the model, the optimal combination of functionality, durability, convenience, compatibility, maintainability and other properties, which are preferred for a truly practical smartphone.
The correlation of price and performance
We deliberately did not take into account super-budget smartphones with minimal performance. Such models have their own consumer, but they can not be called practical. On a smartphone with 1GB of RAM and a weak processor are inevitable serious lags even interface, not to mention popular applications. If the device is supposed to be used only for normal telephony, it is really practical solution will be a phone. That is why our review included models with at least 3GB RAM and processors at least not the weakest of the budget modifications.
Battery life – one of the most notable indicators of the practicality of your smartphone. This was quite a sore point a few years ago, even for flagships. Since 2020 the battery capacity of 5000 mAh and above is no longer a rarity, but when choosing a specific model this point is still worth paying attention to. It should also be taken into account that the same battery capacity rating gives different battery life in different smartphone models. We have chosen models for you, where the battery power is used as efficiently as possible. The rare exceptions are allowed for unconditional or unique advantages.
Extremely useful property, which not all types of electronics have. In the niche of smartphones, IPxx protection is more the prerogative of more expensive models. It is flagships often have the most effective protection, but there are exceptions among mid-range models.
Making the right choice in this case is quite easy thanks to clear standardization. If the model has protection against dust and moisture, the manufacturer is sure to indicate this in the specification. The level of protection, which can be considered significant, starts from IP55. The letters mean Ingress Protection. The first number – the level of dust protection, the second – the level of water protection.
Level 5 dust protection means that small particles of dust can get inside the device, but they won’t harm the electronics. Dustproof 6 means complete protection, the dust does not get inside at all.
Water resistance level 5 means that the device is protected from jets of water from any direction. Water resistance 6 – protection from strong jets, sea waves. Level 7 – protection against short-term total immersion of the device in water. Level 8 – the device is protected from prolonged immersion in water to a depth of 1 meter.
Practicality of almost anything does not imply fragility. In this sense, modern smartphones for the most part little differ from each other – monolithic plastic enclosures are shock resistant enough to at least keep intact the electronics. cases made of tempered glass are good looking and scratch-resistant, but if they hit a hard surface they give “meshes” and lose their appeal. The screen in this sense is almost equally vulnerable in any smartphone. The only exception is the models with enhanced protection. They are characterized by a characteristic massiveness.
This is one of those parameters which are impossible to define based only on the manufacturer’s characteristics. The durability of a smartphone is determined only by practice. Therefore durability can be judged only by reviews of real users. We conducted a special study of customer feedback on the most popular marketplaces in Runet and considered user feedback in selecting the best models in all categories of the review.
The most maintainable in most cases are the most common smartphones, which are in most use, because there are the most spare parts for them on the Russian market. For exactly the same reason, it is on mass models that masters have the best refined repair skills. And there are no price limits – for example, the budget range of Xiaomi on the maintainability is quite compatible with the top iPhone. However, in some cases this can be sacrificed if some unique characteristics are needed.
Significant practical sense is the possibility after a certain time to sell the smartphone as profitable as possible. And this is possible almost exclusively in the case of expensive flagship models. In the budget segment there is a conditional “50% rule” – an inexpensive smartphone loses half of its value as soon as it leaves the store, even if it has not yet unpacked.
This rule does not apply to flagships and top new products. They also lose value over time, but at a much slower rate. Finally, the best liquidity are the same iPhones. It is quite possible to sell used iPhone after a year or more for 70% of the original purchase price. Quite in demand models of previous generations – two, three or more generations ago. Whereas with other brands, such old lines have long been “on the dustbin of history”.
Features of the shell and software
The user’s impression of the practicality of the smartphone is strongly influenced by the software side. And it’s not so much about the differences in the interface of the Android-based operating systems. There are differences in principle, which can offset all the practicality and all the advantages of the hardware of a particular model. The closest example is Huawei smartphones, including the line, Honor. Because of the trade war between the U.S. and China, the new models were deprived of Google services. This had a drastic negative impact, if not on the objective practicality of Huawei smartphones, then on the user experience for sure.
What else would be valuable in a practical sense is the stability of the software, primarily the operating system. Here, too, all the advantages of the iPhone. iOS mobile operating systems are much more stable than Android due to the closed code, greater conservatism and more thorough optimization. For the same reason iOS systems are much less voracious in terms of power consumption.
Useful little things
Finally, a serious practical sense can have secondary things in a smartphone that not everyone is paying attention to. For example FM radio is not present in every model and its availability can be crucial if you do not have access to online news or just for entertainment after an internet disruption.
Such a small thing as a flashlight can also be very important in special situations and even if you have a flashlight, not every model has a flashlight function. The same goes for the availability of standard output 3.5 mm “mini-jack” for headset – in the new generations there is a questionable practice of manufacturers in terms of abandoning this connector in favor of USB Type-C.
At the same time, a USB Type-C connector rather than the outdated MicroUSB is the preferred option in terms of easy charging in public places.
These seemingly small things in today’s smartphones quite a lot – support for different geolocation systems – GLONASS and Beidou, not just GPS; availability of compass, accelerometer, other sensors, and so on.

Best inexpensive and practical smartphones
Let’s start with the category of smartphones that interest the mass consumer – the most practical options at the most affordable price. We didn’t choose the cheapest models because they are not very practical in every sense.
realme C21Y 3/32 GB
And the first in the review will be a model of the brand realme, which in recent years has even surpassed the brand Xiaomi on the ratio of price, quality and functionality.
The main advantage of the model – a record combination of an extremely affordable price and quite good, as for superbudgetnik, functionality. In the minimum configuration, the smartphone is equipped with 3GB of RAM. In the range is a little more expensive modifications with 4GB RAM. Built-in memory is also relatively large for this price – 32GB. Additional storage can be arranged due to the memory card. The maximum capacity is 256GB, and more importantly – a separate slot that does not intersect with the second SIM card. This is the most practical and convenient configuration.
The main savings of the manufacturer, which turned out to achieve a minimum cost, came to the processor. Here stands the inexpensive Unisoc Tiger T610 with a frequency of 1.8GHz. So the speed will be mediocre, do not overload the device with a lot of background applications.
But battery life is not affected here – the battery capacity of 5000 mAh provides up to 40 hours of talk time and up to 130 hours in audio listening mode. In standby mode, the smartphone can work for many days in a row. This is truly an outstanding result for the price. The connector for charging – micro-USB, but in this case this is not a disadvantage, because USB Type-C would have significantly affected the cost.
A reasonable compromise in favor of a minimum price without sacrificing practicality in this model is the screen. The manufacturer has limited the matrix with a modest resolution of 1600×720 screen size 6.5 inches diagonally. But the matrix type itself is IPS, which is a big plus because it provides maximum viewing angles. Smartphones with cheap TN matrices do not stand up to any criticism on the visual part.
It is worth restrained praise for a good camera – triple rear with a leading camera for 13Mpix and a front one for 5Mpix. The quality of pictures will be far from the level of flagships, but still it is far from the minimum configuration of this price category.
Of useful little things (hereinafter “little things” we call additional functions, without neglecting their practical usefulness) in this model, we see a set of sensors – light, proximity, accelerometer, fingerprint. The flash can work in flashlight mode. There is a standard 3.5 mm “mini-jack”. Supports three satellite navigation systems – BeiDou, A-GPS, GLONASS, GPS. True, according to user reviews, the accuracy and stability of the GPS is mediocre.
- IPS matrix;
- not a bad camera for this price;
- a dedicated slot for the memory card;
- Outstanding autonomy;
- luetooth 5.0;
- most affordable price.
- mediocre performance;
- Weak operation of satellite navigation.
oco M4 Pro 5G 4/64GB RU
Now let’s pay attention to the smartphone, the practicality of which is expressed in a few other aspects than the previous two. In the Pro-version of Poco M4 emphasis is placed on maximum performance, visuals and communications while keeping the most affordable price.
The first most noticeable difference is the quality and characteristics of the screen. Size increased – 6.6 inches diagonally, high-resolution IPS matrix – F
- lHD+ 2400×1800. Refresh rate at 90Hz, which also affects the quality of the dynamic image. Thus, this model is one of the best in terms of visuals in the budget price category.
- large screen;
- IPS matrix with F
- Screen refresh rate 90Hz;
- memory card slot with high capacity support;
- luetooth 5.1;
- 5G support;
- Capacity battery and fast charging;
- powerful cameras.
- Users complaints about the work of the GPS;
- The memory card slot is combined with a second SIM card.
- o G95 with a frequency of 2.05GHz. Certainly, a Qualcomm Snapdragon analogue would be preferable, but the price would then increase markedly. But this model already has as much as 6GB of RAM, which for the budget segment is quite remarkable. Built-in memory is also relatively large – 128GB. There is a memory card slot, separate from the second SIM card, with support for a maximum capacity of 512GB.
What exactly in this smartphone is worth praising in terms of practicality is the energy component. 5000mAh battery eliminates the need for frequent charging. And when you do have to charge the smartphone, the Mi Turbo Charge fast charging feature via USB Type-C shows its best side.
The configuration of interfaces is also no worse than the previous models in the review – there is Bluetooth 5.0, infrared port, all popular satellite navigation systems. Of useful features – there is a standard audio output 3.5 mm, face unlock, side fingerprint scanner, compass, stereo speakers.
Frankly weak point of this model can be considered a camera. The configuration is decent at first glance: a rear unit of 64-megapixel wide-angle, 8-megapixel “super wide,” 2MP macro camera and depth sensor, plus a 13MP front-facing. But according to the reviews of experts and ordinary users, the photo quality does not reach the expected level. But the video quality is quite decent, including even 4K resolution.
- large screen;
- AMOLED matrix;
- High resolution;
- A dedicated slot for the memory card;
- high maintainability;
- Mi Turbo Charge fast charging;
- Shooting video in 4K;
- the best configuration at an affordable price.
- relatively weak cameras.
The best secure smartphone practical
The second nomination in Expertology’s review of the most practical smartphones is dedicated to the models for which “usability” has the most direct meaning. This is a smartphone with enhanced physical protection from drops, dust and water, other effects of aggressive environment.
DOOGEE S59 Pro 4/128 GB
First consider a smartphone Chinese brand DOOGEE. This is a relatively young brand, owned by a major technology company KDV. Known for inexpensive and quite functional smartphones with good protection from the environment.
This model is at least one and a half times more expensive than the previous model, depending on the specific point of sale, but in terms of practicality is much more interesting. The main advantage – the maximum protection against the influence of aggressive factors. The body is dominated by strong plastic and aluminum, reinforced fall protection.
Especially well developed here protection from dust and moisture. The smartphone complies with IP68 and even IP69K. The IP69K degree of protection complies with two German standards DIN 40050-9 and IEC 60529. This makes it suitable for safe operation in conditions not only with direct access to water, but also with high temperatures and high pressure. It is suitable for work in various industries, in the food industry, where the method of cleaning equipment with pressurized water or steam is applied.
The second striking advantage of this model is simply a giant battery in terms of capacity – 10050 mA⋅h. In continuous talk time is well over 40 hours, in audio listening mode – many times more. Even better is the USB Type-C connector and the fast charging feature. True, the fast charging does not work as effectively as users expect it to.
Strengthened protection and a powerful battery could not but affect the physical dimensions of the smartphone. It is thick and heavy – thickness 18.7mm, weighing in at 372g. The horizontal dimensions are moderate – 85.5×171.6. The screen isn’t the biggest, but it’s not the smallest either – 5.7 inches in diagonal.
We also see here clear performance advantages over the realme C21Y. More powerful processor – 8-core MediaTek He
- o P22 with 2GHz, 4GB of RAM. Noticeably better camera configuration – 4 rear modules with a leading 16MP, and a rear one with 16MP sensor resolution too.
The manufacturer also did not skimp on the IPS matrix, allowing only a reasonable and appropriate compromise on resolution – it is almost the same as in the previous version – 1520×720.
From Yandex user review.Market with the status of “Level 2 Gadget Inspector”: “Good battery life, good display, phone protection at the level, sensor works with gloves, underwater shooting, plenty of memory, wireless payment, communication is very good, loud speaker, good case materials – the tactile sensation is pleasant”.
- enhanced shock protection;
- Increased protection against dust and moisture, high pressure and temperature;
- IPS matrix;
- Record-breaking battery capacity;
- USB Type-C;
- Not a bad camera configuration;
- attractive “brutal” design.
- Fast charging is claimed, but it does not work too effectively.
DOOGEE S86 Pro 8/128GB
Now let’s turn your attention to another DOOGEE smartphone with enhanced protection. It can serve as a more productive alternative to the previous one if you want better performance electronics.
In terms of protection this model is almost similar to the previous one. The smartphone is similar in shape of the body, thickenings in the most vulnerable to shock loads, in particular the corners. Well developed protection against dust and moisture – full compliance with IP68 standard, that is, getting dust inside the body is excluded, and the water is not afraid of the smartphone, even in full immersion in water and when exposed to high pressure water jets.
In terms of performance there are noticeable improvements. The processor although budget, but still more advanced than the above version is MediaTek He
- o P60 with 2GHz. RAM is definitely a joy for the price – as much as 8GB. Built-in memory of 128GB, and it can easily be expanded with a memory card up to 256GB. Slot, though, combined with a second sim card.
The practicality of the smartphone in the context of protected models is also noticeable in the reasonable compromise the manufacturer made when developing the screen and camera configuration. It has a matrix with a moderate HD resolution of 1560×720, but it is reliable and less vulnerable than many F
- lHD options or even more so 4K. large screen – 6.1 inch in diagonal.
- leo, gps. Support for GLONASS, unfortunately, no.
- increased shock resistance;
- IP68 protection;
- improved performance;
- infrared thermometer;
- high capacity battery;
- USB Type-C and fast charging.
- does not support GLONASS.
Caterpillar S42 H+ 3/32GB
Now let’s move on to the smartphone brand, which is directly associated with technological power and practicality in the truest physical sense. This is a Caterpillar and relatively inexpensive in this class model S42 H+. Recall that Caterpillar is an American manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, in particular the famous super-heavy trucks CAT. Caterpillar smartphones are, by definition, built for the harshest and most demanding environments.
The main “chip” smartphone is quite obvious – it’s maximum shock resistance, moisture and dust protection. S42 can be immersed in water completely, wash under running water not only with soap, but even with chlorine solution or alcohol, if disinfection is required. But you need to make sure that all plugs of connectors and other technological holes are tightly closed.
Protection is not the only advantage of the physical characteristics. The smartphone is carefully designed for ease of use in confined spaces, the body uses impact-resistant plastic, metal. The rubberized back and sides provide a firm grip with your bare hand or a rough construction glove.
The second important aspect, which in this model is elaborated with great care, is the quality of communication. This is specially emphasized to ensure good telephony audibility and smooth connectivity for data transfer. Wi-Fi module is standard 802.11ac, but really high quality. Bluetooth is also a new generation – 5.0, that is, speed.
On the visual side, the figures here are modest, and it’s quite a reasonable compromise for the sake of minimizing the price. The predecessor of this model was twice as expensive. And here we see the screen 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440×720, which is quite enough for such a niche model. The cameras are also minimally sufficient – the only rear at 13 MP and the front at 5 MP.
As for the battery life, it seems that this model strongly loses to the previous two, because the battery capacity is “only” 4200 mA⋅h. In fact, this capacity is quite enough for more than 30 hours of talk time and more than 800 hours of standby time. The system is well enough optimized that in moderate consumption mode, the smartphone will last several days without problems. The only thing – there is no fast charging and the connector is obsolete – MicroUSB.
From a review of Yandex.Market with the status of “Inspector of gadgets 6 level”: “The impression of a well-made product. communication quality is normal. NFC works without glitches. No need to buy any covers and protective screens. Immediately after unpacking, you forget about fears of damaging/breaking your new device.”.
- Top quality materials;
- Reliable protection from dust, water and shock loads;
- rubberized surface of the body;
- The quality of communication, including Wi-Fi;
- reliability and durability;
- Moderate price in this class.
- no fast charging;
- MicroUSB connector.
OUKITEL F150 R2022 8/128GB
We finish the selection of the best protected smartphones practical model brand OUKITEL. This brand is a joint product of Chinese companies OUKITEL and Doogee. And specifically this model F150 R2022 top reviewers often call “suddenly the best armor under $300”.
This smartphone is notable for all the outstanding protective features that all the previous ones in the selection, but it is also noticeably ahead of them in terms of performance, camera and screen parameters.
Let’s start all the same with the protection and physical parameters, as for practical smartphones this is most important. The device is big and thick – 81x174x17.3mm, weighs 315g. Sturdy plastic body, reinforced corners, attractive brutal angular design. Full IP68 and IP69K dust and moisture protection.
The second bright spot in every sense is the screen. It is large – 6.78 inch, high-quality IPS matrix with wide viewing angles and high resolution F
- lHD+ 2340×1080. The refresh rate is 90Hz. Pixel density – 380 per inch. That is, the size of the screen is more important here – easy viewing and touch control. Resolution and frequency provide a comfortable visual experience. The screen is really bright, the lower limit is a bit too high, but this is a characteristic of almost all protected smartphones.
- o G95 on 8 cores with a fairly powerful graphics subsystem, complemented by 8GB of RAM. Built-in 128GB memory can be supplemented with an external mini-card up to 256GB. Slot dedicated, and does not interfere with the installation of a second sim card.
As for battery life, here we return to the virtues of smartphones DOOGEE with their giant batteries – in this model the battery 8300 mAh, which gives more than 50 hours of talk time. And, like normal flagships, there is provision for fast charging via the modern USB Type-C interface.
Of useful little things to note the gyroscope, flashlight, FM radio, compass, standard socket 3.5 mm “mini-jack” for headphones, fingerprint scanner, face unlock feature.
- large screen;
- High-quality IPS matrix;
- high resolution of the matrix;
- relatively high performance;
- A reliable IP68, IP69K protection;
- shock resistance;
- High-capacity battery;
- USB Type-C and fast charging;
- A dedicated memory card slot;
- Attractive design.
- Not identified any disadvantages.
The best classic practical smartphones
The final selection of the review of the most practical smartphones according to Expertology magazine is dedicated to classic models that are not niche, but are designed for the mass consumer. Let’s look at three such examples, which deserve the highest marks from the experts and ordinary users in terms of practicality in the broad sense.
Samsung Galaxy A52 4/128GB RU
First consider the smartphone manufactured by Samsung, which quickly after the official presentation was a hit of sales, and later proved to be one of the most successful commercially successful models of the brand. The reason for that was a surprisingly well-balanced combination of performance and price, backed by reliability, convenience and durability.
A noticeable advantage of the smartphone is a large, bright screen with a high-quality AMOLED matrix with a resolution of F
- lHD+ 2400×1080. A really great margin of brightness, an expressive image and at the same time energy efficient. According to the reviews of experts and ordinary users, this smartphone shows record battery life exactly when the screen is active. So if you need a “long life” device for a long time watching video or reading, this is just the best option.
- One of the most purchased Samsung smartphones;
- IP67 protection;
- balanced characteristics;
- Reliability and stable performance;
- A productive processor with gaming specialization;
- AMOLED matrix with F
- lHD+ resolution;
- Powerful camera;
- fast charging.
- A lot of unnecessary uninstallable programs.
- exceptional reliability and durability;
- ED screen;
- high resolution;
- Bluetooth 5.1;
- Advanced satellite navigation;
- fast charging.
- there are complaints about the “noisiness” of photos.
- top premium class;
- The highest quality of materials and workmanship;
- top-end performance;
- exceptional image quality;
- battery life;
- Outstanding photo quality;
- High-quality optical stabilization;
- high liquidity.
- The typical limitations of Apple technology.
The second very noteworthy point is the powerful cameras. The rear unit consists of four modules, the leading camera with 64MP, plus an ultra-wide-angle 12MP, macro and depth sensor 5MP each. Frontal, too, is almost a record in this price range – 32Mpix.
Clearly positive impression of the level of key electronics. At the heart of everything is a processor (single-chip system) Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G – eight cores, frequency 2.3GHz. The important thing here is the presence of the index G, which conventionally stands for “Gaming” – improved operation of the graphics module.
Doesn’t disappoint with communications and additional equipment. There is a memory card slot that supports large volumes (up to 1024GB), but it is combined with a second sim card, and in terms of practicality this is a minus.
The huge popularity of the smartphone worked to the plus side in such an aspect as repairability. In its pure form, Samsung electronics are less repairable than Xiaomi. But due to the wide availability of spare parts for the Galaxy A52 replacement of a broken screen or some electronics module is often quick and inexpensive.
From Yandex user review.Market with the status of “Level 5 Gadget Inspector”: “Screen. Wonderful, bright, moderately saturated. Energy Efficient. Battery. Holds sometimes an incredible 10-11 hours of active screen! Incredible! The camera is good. Excellent even”.
Sony Xperia 10 III 6/128GB, blue
The selection continues with a smartphone made by Sony, which belongs to the above-average price category, but is still far from being a flagship. In a number of ways it is no better than the previous, more affordable option. However, this particular model, no longer the newest, has earned some of the most positive feedback from experts and users in terms of reliability, stability and fault tolerance in the long term.
It is reliability is the main advantage of the model in terms of practicality. And this is aided by a well-designed and well-implemented dust and moisture protection – IP68 level. The materials of the body is tempered glass and strong plastic.
The 6-inch screen is equipped with a high-quality OLED matrix with an increased resolution of 2520×1080. The refresh rate is modest – 60Hz, but in this context it is not a minus. The pixel density of 457 per inch, it provides an excellent quality “picture. The screen is protected by rugged, next-generation Corning Gorilla Glass 6 glass.
In terms of performance, this model does not offer any surprises, but you can’t call the configuration limited either. Still, the 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 processor is a decent option for this level, and the 6GB RAM looks appropriate and sufficient. Built-in memory can be expanded by delivering an external card – a slot though combined with a second “sim card”, but supports large amounts of up to 1024GB.
The same restrained, but quite sufficient camera configuration looks. Rear unit – 12 megapixel main camera and two additional 8 megapixels. Front camera – also 8Mpix. This set can not compete with the capabilities of “artistic” shooting flagship models, but in terms of practicality and impact on the final cost is quite acceptable. To be fair, however, it is worth saying that a noticeable portion of users complain about the “noisiness” of photos, especially in low light conditions.
With the autonomy of the smartphone is also seen as a very rational approach of the manufacturer without excessive “generosity”. The 4500 mAh battery provides many hours of active work and several days in moderate mode. There is a function of fast charging, the connection port – USB Type-C. Is nice that the manufacturer has not abandoned the standard connector 3.5 mm “mini-jack” for headphone connection. In addition, Sony has not neglected audio quality here – advanced DSEE technology has been implemented
- timate, applying artificial intelligence to maximize the sound quality of compressed tracks.
iPhone 13 Pro Max
And the review of the most practical smartphones according to Expertology magazine will be completed by the only model in the selection, which is the undisputed flagship of the premium class. The practicality of this smartphone is expressed far from the price to quality ratio, as the price of iPhone 13 breaks all records, especially in the top modification of the Pro Max.
In this case we have included the iPhone in the review not only as a specific model, but also as an example, characterizing some general properties of the practicality of Apple technology. It is well known and recognized the highest quality of materials and workmanship, extremely thorough technological process and control. All this translates in the end to a maximum stability, fault tolerance, durability and energy efficiency of smartphones iPhone. And this model iPhone 13 Pro Max according to the results of studies is also the most “long-lasting” in terms of battery life, if compared to previous generations.
The practicality of this smartphone is expressed mainly in the premium aspect. That is, it demonstrates outstanding performance, photo/video quality with optical stabilization, usability, reliability and data security.
In addition, the device is equipped with excellent protection against dust and moisture – iPhone 13 Pro Max is not afraid of rain and even total immersion under water for quite a long time. This makes it a reasonable practical solution for use in relatively demanding conditions – sports shooting, active hiking, etc. d.
The iPhone smartphones are also one of the most rational solutions in practical terms for streamers, video bloggers, any users actively engaged in social networking with a photo / video content. This is ensured by the maximum adaptation of the software for such purposes, high compatibility with many thematic online services.
Another aspect of practicality that Apple technology is famous for is liquidity. Flagship iPhones are a pretty rare example of electronics that don’t lose 50% of their original value immediately after the actual purchase of a new model. Moreover, even after a long time, a year or more, the top iPhone can easily be sold for 70% of its original price. In addition, iPhones are notable for their high maintainability. Such a common problem like a broken screen, solved though expensive, but quickly and reliably.
The camera configuration is no less interesting. The rear unit consists of three modules – the main one is wide-angle 64 MP, the second 20 MP camera and a 2 MP macro-camera. Front sensor – 16MP. The main unit can shoot video in 4K 3840×2160 resolution. There is a night shooting mode using the infrared sensor.
In terms of performance, from the hardware, we see a restrained, but sufficient. MediaTek He processor
As for the cameras, they are quite good, and the kit is not the most limited. The rear unit consists of three modules – 16MP main, 8MP super-wide angle and 2MP macro. It’s certainly not top of the line, but for practical use in the field and operational environments, these features are more than enough. Front camera – 8MP.
The battery capacity in this model is less than in the previous model, but it still leaves far behind the vast majority of other smartphones on the market. 8500 mA⋅h provides several days of moderate operation, comparable to days of continuous listening to audio or more than 45 hours of continuous talk time in cellular mode. Charging via USB Type-C, there is a function of fast charging.
It’s also worth mentioning the following useful functionality in tactical and just practical terms. It’s flashlight, FM radio, infrared thermometer, compass. Satellite navigation works well with support for three systems – BeiDou, Ga
- leo, gps. Support for GLONASS, unfortunately, no.
The second important point in terms of usability is quite decent for this price performance, which is provided by an 8-core processor MediaTek Dimensity 810 with a frequency of 2.4GHz combined with 4GB of RAM. Well designed data storage potential. Built-in memory is not too much – 64GB, but the memory card slot supports large volumes – up to 1024GB. However, it is frustrating that the slot is combined with a second SIM card.
Also the high performance is characterized by a means of communication. Here we see a high-speed Bluetooth version 5.1, high-quality Wi-Fi, a near-field wireless communications module with NFC and even 5G support. There is also an infrared port. Navigation has support for all the most popular satellite systems, but the GPS still causes complaints of some users.
All of the described electronics has a decent power base – the 5000 mAh battery in this configuration easily provides more than 170 hours of audio listening. For charging there is a USB Type-C interface, there is a function of fast charging.
Some compromise on the background of the quite decent features described above in this model can be seen only in the camera configuration. And that only at first glance, and not everything is so unambiguous. The rear unit consists of only two cameras, but they are really working – 50MP wide-angle and 8MP sverhshirik. Frontal 16Mpix. Software processing methods effectively compensate for the lack of a depth sensor and other add-ons typical of more expensive models.
