- Conclusion
Who among us likes to wash dishes regularly?? In the 21st century, we want to automate the process in some way. Luckily, today’s technology makes it possible – just get a dishwasher. Not only does it save you time, it also reduces your water bill. But which dishwasher to choose?? This article will answer that question.
How to choose a dishwasher?
First, let’s start by deciding who needs a dishwasher. You might not need one, but you might think you do? A dishwasher is not the kind of appliance you run after every meal. You should only use it when you have an overwhelming backlog of unwashed dishes. It’s the only way to make sure you save water and energy. From this we can conclude that if you live alone or even with two people – you do not need a dishwasher. No, you can, of course, stockpile dishes. But it can take a long time, and it can leave a messy odour in your kitchen. And if you only have to wash the dishes for yourself, is it really that time-consuming?? Another thing – families with children. In that case you can be sure you will have racked up the right amount of dishes by the end of the day. In short, we recommend buying such a device only for families with at least three people.
When choosing a dishwasher the first thing to decide is what type of dishwasher it is. If you’re just setting up your kitchen, go for a built-in dishwasher. This appliance can be hidden in a kitchen cabinet, hiding it from your and others’ eyes. There are also partially recessed dishwashers – they cannot be fully covered with furniture, leaving at least the control panel outside. Well, the cheapest are the regular freestanding models. It is recommended to look in their direction in case you are not going to make a large-scale repair in the kitchen.
Most of all, different dishwashers differ from each other by the number of programs. The most inexpensive dishwashers offer only 4-5 operating modes, among which you’re unlikely to find anything interesting. More advanced dishwashers get such atypical programs as:
Automatic or intelligent mode– The dishwasher scans the loaded items using special sensors, and then independently selects exactly how to wash them;
High temperature mode– the water is heated to boiling water, thus destroying many pathogenic bacteria and allergy-causing particles;
Mode of cleaning of thin glass and crystal– it is better not to put such things in a regular dishwasher, as there is a risk of damaging them;
Short running modes– it comes in handy during a feast when it is necessary to wash dishes as quickly as possible.
These are the first programs that come to mind – they’re not found in every dishwasher! But these are not the only differences between the appliances. The drying system chosen by the manufacturer can also vary:
Condensing– Used in the most inexpensive machines. These appliances dry crockery naturally – moisture condenses on the walls of the dishwasher, as they have a lower temperature. The condensate then flows out through a special opening. This way is good, as it doesn’t consume power and doesn’t cause unnecessary noise. The disadvantage of this kind of drying is that it takes too long to dry.
Turbo-dryingTurbo drying is the air blowing around the dishes with hot air that is blown by the integrated fan. This drying process does not leave streaks on glassware, and the process does not take very long. But you can tell when the turbo dryer is on, by the noise it makes and the power consumption of the dishwasher continues.
Zeolite dryer – used exclusively in premium appliances. A dishwasher equipped with it has a special compartment where special minerals are placed – they absorb moisture while releasing heat, which also speeds up the drying process of dishes.
Drying with a heat exchangerImplies the use of a water catchment compartment. During washing, it collects heat, with which the water intended for the final rinse is heated. At the end of the compartment is filled with cold water, as a result of which the formation of condensate is accelerated by about one and a half times. The best way to keep your dishes dry, without streaks, noise and energy-saving.
When choosing a dishwasher, you can also look at the rest of its features. For example, leakage protection, which can be partial or full, is important. Also the evaluation of the control. In almost all cases, it is electronic, but the method of implementation is different – somewhere the user expects the normal physical buttons, and somewhere they are touch. Also note the water consumption – you’re buying this appliance to save water, after all. If price is not an issue, better to find a model with an inverter motor – it will be very quiet. And if you use a two or three-rate meter, you must have a delayed start function! The number of baskets is also an important parameter, because it determines how many dishes you can load and what kind of dishes.

The best 45cm narrow free-standing dishwashers
Bosch Serie 6 SPS66TW11R
Rating: 4.9

A rather expensive dishwasher, which sells for between 71-80k. Roubles. Such a dishwasher could not do without the most modern technology. In particular, its creators managed to reduce water consumption to 9.5 liters per cycle. Ten sets of dishes can be washed in this way at once. Quite a good parameter for an appliance, the width of which does not exceed 45 cm. Also, someone will appreciate the weight of 46 kg – two grown men will not experience problems with installing the unit.
This model has several automatic programs at its disposal. It can be used in up to five temperature settings. No problems with cleaning glasses – there is a special holder for them. The clear water sensor lets the system know as soon as the process is complete. There is also a delayed start timer, which will be useful if you pay a reduced rate for electricity at night. Complete protection against leakage, which excludes the possibility of flooding the neighbors, should please you.
The only thing that can upset the buyer a little is the dryer, which is a condensation dryer here. But it does not use any electricity at all. And you will hardly consider it a misfortune that washing and drying of dishes in standard mode takes a total of 195 minutes.
Advantages
- Low noise level;
- Full leakage protection;
- There are automatic programs and express mode;
- There are no problems with glassware;
- Minimum water consumption;
- There is a protection against children;
- There is a delayed start timer and a night program;
- Height-adjustable basket for dishes;
- Convenient, electronic control.
Disadvantages
- Simple condensation drying;
- There is no half-load mode;
- High cost.
Bosch Serie 2 SPS25FW10R
Rating: 4.8

A considerably less expensive dishwasher, from the same German company. Its width is 45 cm, and the water consumption does not exceed 9.5 liters. Unfortunately, the dishwasher is considerably noisier. Nevertheless, if you are not in the kitchen, you will hardly hear its work. We are pleased that our rating model has full leakage protection – in case of any failure the device will not flood you and your neighbors. It also has a child safety feature, so a child cannot accidentally turn on the machine.
The product is designed to wash ten loads of dishes. Controls – as simplified as possible, there is not even a display. Among the different programs, it is possible to find the economy and intensive modes – for lightly and heavily soiled dishes, respectively. Of course, there is no automatic program, the economy has not allowed the manufacturer to endow their creations with the appropriate sensors. But it supplemented the device with a delayed start. As far as drying is concerned, it is condensation drying.
Advantages
- Low water consumption;
- The weight does not exceed 41 kg;
- Easy electronic control;
- Low cost;
- The dish basket is height-adjustable;
- There is a holder for glasses;
- Fully protected against leaks;
- Has a timer for delayed start.
Disadvantages
- There is no half-load mode;
- No automatic programs;
- Noise level is quite high.
Electrolux ESF 9452 LOX
Rating: 4.7

Sweden’s Electrolux is one of the biggest names in home appliances. You can buy its dishwashers in almost any country in the world. The appliances distributed under the Swedish brand are often economical and highly functional. For example, ESF 9452 LOX corresponds to power consumption class A+, what not every representative of our rating can boast of. As for water consumption, it does not exceed 10 liters, even if you load all 9 sets of dishes into the machine. Not everyone will like only noise level, which reaches quite decent 47 dB. But almost all dishwashers, which cost about 30 thousand rubles, have this disadvantage. rubles.
This machine differs from the analogues with its automatically opening door. This prevents strong condensation water from forming, which would spoil the appearance of dishes. Multiple button system is used to control this dishwasher. A total of six programs are available to choose from, including the delicate (for washing glassware), intensive and economic. If necessary, the duration of the process can be reduced by significantly increasing the temperature and water pressure.
Despite the affordable price tag for many, the device has a sensor of water purity. Also engineers have implemented a full leakage protection. However, it will hardly ever come in handy, as devices of the Swedish giant are famous for their reliability.
Advantages
- There is a delayed start (up to 24 hours);
- Full leak protection;
- The dish basket is height-adjustable;
- There is a holder for glasses;
- Easy control;
- There are delicate and intensive programs;
- Low water consumption;
- Energy class A+;
- Not so high price.
Disadvantages
- The upholstery is made of very thin metal;
- Flimsy rollers on baskets slides;
- Noise level is high enough.
Hotpoint-Ariston LSFF 9H124 C
Rating: 4.6

Another narrow dishwasher in our rating. You can buy it in Russia for 33-34 thousand euros. rubles. Some unusual technology in such an inexpensive device will not appear, but somehow the product is still a surprise. For example, the machine belongs to power consumption class A++. Also, the manufacturer has tried to reduce the noise level. Of course, 44 dB are still heard when you are in the kitchen, but they do not distract from cooking and other things at all. Still it is necessary to note a good capacity – at one time you can wash 10 sets of dishes.
The dishwasher electronics got 9 programs of work. Among them, you can note the night mode, in which the process takes longer, but the machine stops making any noise at all. Of course, this mode should be used in conjunction with the delayed start.
This model has a sensor of water purity. Also here is implemented a leak protection, albeit only partial. Some will like the ability to connect to hot water – not every dishwasher has this feature. In a word, this dishwasher is a good value for the money!
Advantages
- High power consumption class;
- The water consumption is only 9 liters;
- Uncomplicated operation;
- A large number of programmes;
- There is a holder for glasses;
- Has a timer for delayed start;
- Can be connected to hot water;
- There is a half-load mode;
- Built-in sensor of water purity;
- Adequate price.
Disadvantages
- No child safety;
- Only partial leak-proof.
Gorenje GS52010S
Rating: 4.5

One of the cheapest dishwashers in our rating. Thus on some parameters the device from Gorenje surpasses the competitors. In particular, it has a very low power consumption. For this reason, it even received the appropriate A grade++. Of course, it does not consume much water either – only 9 liters per cycle. That’s enough for 9 loads of dishes. Including this model allows you to wash glasses – the appropriate holder is available in the kit.
The need to make the dishwasher less wide still affected its performance. The appliance is quite noisy in particular. However, 49 dB can be felt only when you are in the kitchen. It’s unlikely you’ll hear the dishwasher from another room. One could also note the disadvantages of condensation drying. But with a dishwasher that small, it’s impossible to use any other technology.
The number of buttons on the dashboard is reduced to a minimum. Engineers have given their creation with only five programs. Luckily, you can find energy-saving and pre-soak modes among them. In short, absolutely any dish can be washed with this model. By the way, it is impossible not to appreciate the appearance of the device – you will definitely like the silver color of the case.
Advantages
- Implemented self-cleaning filters;
- Cute Design;
- Very low cost;
- Height-adjustable washing-up basket;
- There is a holder for glasses;
- Full leakage protection;
- The half-load mode is implemented;
- Minimal water consumption;
- It is possible to connect to hot water;
- The high class of energy consumption;
- Easy to learn operation.
Disadvantages
- There is no sensor of water purity;
- The noise level can not be called low;
- The display does not show the remaining time;
- No program for fragile dishes;
- No delayed start timer; Absent.
Candy CDP 2L952 X
Rating: 4.4

Another very inexpensive dishwasher. And it is also made of silver colored metal, which makes it stand out quite well from other kitchen appliances. Like many of its competitors, the dishwasher only wastes 9 liters of water per cycle. No problems with power consumption, even though the A grade suggests that more economical models exist. This appliance can wash 9 sets of dishes at a time – for a device with a 45-centimeter width, this is quite an adequate capacity.
The device provides 3 temperature settings and 5 programs. That’s enough for dishes with any level of dirt. A glance at the dashboard, however, shows that the engineers have saved a lot of money. The problem is that they did not equip their product with a mode for fragile cookware. And they only implemented a partial leakage protection. There are no automatic programs that use the water purity sensor – the run time of the appliance is tied to a timer. By the way, a delayed start is available here, which will please people who pay for electricity on two or three tariffs.
It remains to add that the dishwashermachinemade quite noisy. Well, it dries in the traditional way – by collecting condensate on its walls.
Advantages
- Very low price;
- Adequate water consumption;
- The control is easy to learn;
- Childproofing is present;
- The dish basket is adjustable in height;
- With glass holder;
- Added delayed start timer;
- Aesthetically pleasing.
Disadvantages
- The noise level is 52 dB;
- Only partial leak protection;
- No water purity sensor;
- No half-load mode;
- No mode for fragile dishes.
The best full-size (60 cm) freestanding dishwashers
Bosch Serie 6 SMS 66MI00 R
Rating: 4.9

One of the most expensive dishwashers in our rating. If you decide to buy this model, you will need to spend 90 thousand. rub. For this money you get an unusual-looking unit, the body of which is made of silver metal. Everything is made in such a way that not every person would immediately recognize this dishwasher in this appliance. German manufacturer also tried to simplify control, not forgetting about child protection. It can be also praised for the use of a quiet motor – the noise level during the operation of this appliance does not exceed 44 dB, which can be considered an ideal result.
Despite its fairly large size, the appliance consumes only 9.5 liters of water per cycle. Strangely enough, it is enough to wash 14 sets of dishes cleanly. The maximum power consumption of the appliance is 2400 watts, and it takes about 1 kWh per cycle. Not a lot, that is why this model received the corresponding class A. However, it is clearly not designed for thrifty people. Its task is to wash dishes cleanly, no matter how dirty they may be. Of course, there’s a half-load mode, so you don’t need to stockpile all 14 sets. There is also a delicate program which helps to wash a mountain of crystal.
In short, it is an excellent dishwasher, which also has a special coating – it does not leave fingerprints. Of course, this monster knows how to react to the degree of contamination itself – for this purpose, it has received a sensor of water purity. It would be strange to get a dishwasher for this kind of money without this sensor.
Advantages
- Unusual appearance;
- There is a holder for glasses;
- Automatic modes are available;
- Full spill protection;
- Low water consumption;
- It can hold 14 sets;
- Child protection is implemented;
- There is a half-load mode;
- Low noise level;
- Convenient height adjustment of the dish basket;
- Not forgotten delayed start.
Disadvantages
- High cost.
Asko D 5436 W
Rating: 4.8

More often than not, these dishwashers have a special panel, on which you can find buttons, controls, and a display. This panel takes up space. If you get rid of it, you can make the dishwasher more roomy, or add some more accessories. This is exactly what the makers of the Asko D 5436 W had in mind when they moved the control panel right on the door. As a result, it seems that the dish compartment here takes up as much space as possible. However, it has not affected the capacity – the device is capable of washing up to 13 sets of dishes at a time. But it has a fan that blows hot air into the dishes. This is how its drying is done, which takes a few minutes.
This is one of the most energy efficient dishwashers in our ranking. This model received energy efficiency class A+++. Pretty neat. Especially when you consider that the cost of the device can not be called too high – it is about 50 thousand. RUB. In terms of water consumption, it is not more than 10 liters.
Thanks to a special design, the appliance can heat water up to 70°C. It is also impossible not to note the presence of a large number of sensors. The machine itself determines not only the purity of water, but also its hardness, uploading after that exactly the right amount of detergent. The manufacturer did not forget about the delayed start timer. Perhaps this model is the closest to the ideal.
Advantages
- The noise level is only 46 dB;
- Belongs to power consumption class A+++;
- Fast drying of dishes;
- The control panel is on the door;
- Automatic programs are available;
- The machine detects the water hardness itself;
- There is a timer for delayed start;
- There is a holder for glasses;
- The height of the baskets is easily adjusted.
Disadvantages
- The water consumption is up to 11 liters;
- Does not hold the largest number of sets of dishes.
Bosch Serie 4 SMS44GI00R
Rating: 4.8

This dishwasher from German company Bosch, which belongs to the fourth series, differs with its optimal price tag. However, even 43 thousand euros of dishwashing time will not be enough for a long time. RUB. indicates that the manufacturer has been economizing on something. Here it is noticeable by the noise level, reaching 48 dB. The internal space, calculated only for 12 sets of dishes, may also confuse some people. And 4 programs – it is not enough, not enough mode for the fragile dishes. Finally, this dishwasher cannot be called economical, neither in terms of power consumption, nor in terms of water consumption.
You should not think that this model consists only of disadvantages. The dishwasher is fully leak-proof, and its appearance should please every customer. It also comes with child safety feature – when activated, the dishwasher can only be started by pressing a certain combination of buttons. Delayed start timer is useful for those who pay for electricity on a two- or three-tariff system. Well, it’s Bosch equipment, so this dishwasher will serve you, if not forever, then certainly for a decade or even longer.
Advantages
- Has a holder for the glasses;
- Height-adjustable basket for dishes;
- Fingerprint-resistant coatings are present;
- There is a mode of half loading;
- Child protection is available;
- Not forgetting the delayed start timer;
- Easy control.
Disadvantages
- No sensor for water purity;
- Not a very large number of programs;
- The water consumption reaches 11,7 l;
- Rather high power consumption;
- The noise level is 48 dB.
Hotpoint-Ariston HFO 3C23 WF
Rating: 4.7

Another dishwasher whose dashboard sits on the opening door. The number of buttons is reduced to a minimum, so even an elderly person can understand the functionality of the device. And there is a segment display that shows the remaining time to the end of the process.
This model is sold in Russia for 35-38 thousand euros; – This is a high energy class; – This model is sold in Russia for 35-38 thousand euros. Roubles. It’s pretty inexpensive, especially considering it’s a full-size dishwasher. Strange as it may seem, in some respects this appliance surpasses many more expensive competitors. For example, this dishwasher can by no means be called noisy. It also turned out to be rarely energy efficient – the experts assigned it the appropriate class A++. Good capacity should please the buyer – at one time the device can wash 14 sets of dishes. And the number of programs here is brought to nine! In fact, half of the modes seem to be useless. There is no sensor of water purity, so the automatic programs will not work properly. Absence of the half-load mode looks strange against this background. As for drying, here it is implemented by standard condensation method.
Advantages of
- Low Noise;
- Has a delayed start timer;
- The dish basket is height-adjustable;
- There is a holder for glasses;
- Full leakage protection;
- High class power consumption;
- Easy-to-learn operation.
Disadvantages
- Water consumption cannot be called the lowest;
- There is no sensor of water purity;
- No half-load mode.
Indesit DFG 26B1 NX
Rating: 4.6

This freestanding dishwasher is sold at an even lower price. And it’s also 60 cm wide. Such appliance could not be less capacious, as the manufacturer assures that it could wash 13 sets of dishes at once. For this task there are 6 programs. Among them, you can find the delicate mode, which will help wash crystal and glassware. Express-mode, necessary for washing slightly contaminated dishes, is not forgotten – the whole cycle in it lasts less than an hour. Of course, there is also an intensive program. And if the dishes are absolutely bad, it is possible to use the pre-soak mode.
Perhaps this is not a bad dishwasher, which has a silver-colored body and is not devoid of disadvantages. It has a fairly high power consumption, and the leakage protection here is only partial.
Advantages
- Height adjustable basket for dishes;
- The large number of useful programs;
- There is a half-load mode;
- Not a bad capacity;
- Simple operation;
- The water consumption does not exceed 11 liters;
- Not very high cost;
- There is a timer for delayed start;
- It can be connected to hot water.
Disadvantages
- Only partial leak protection;
- The power consumption cannot be called low;
- The noise level reaches 49 dB.
The Best Compact Recessed Dishwashers
Bosch Serie 6 SPV66TD10R
Rating: 4.9

We have included quite a few dishwashers from the German company Bosch in our rating. And there is a reason for that. Its devices sometimes amaze the imagination. For example, a model called Serie 6 SPV66TD10R has a very unusual design. The top panel with buttons and display opens with the door. The dishwasher is only 44.8 cm wide. At the same time there is enough space inside it – you can wash up to ten sets of dishes in one go.
The device is child-proof. If you have at least one small child, you will need to press a special combination of keys to turn on the machine. The water consumption is also very low for such a device and is only 9,5 liters. The noise level should also please you, as it does not exceed 43 dB. In terms of energy consumption, however, this model does not break any records, which is why it received the corresponding class A.
Talking about this dishwasher, though, you don’t want to talk about disadvantages at all. And there are very few of them. You can see that the manufacturer tried to create a perfect device. It even implemented internal lighting! It also has a sensor of water purity, which makes the automatic programs work almost perfectly. Drying is achieved by condensation drying.
Advantages
- There is a timer for delayed start;
- Time indication is displayed on the floor;
- There is a holder for glasses;
- Full protection against leaks;
- The sensor of water purity is not forgotten;
- Built-in interior light;

- Low noise level;
- A small flow rate of water;
- Child lock is implemented.
Disadvantages
- There is no half-load mode;
- High cost;
- Power consumption is quite high.

Electrolux is a real giant that makes a lot of home appliances. Many of its dishwashers have some kind of modern technology, which makes the cost of appliances reach very high values. The cheapest built-in dishwasher in our rating, as far as full-size models are concerned. It doesn’t cost more than 20 thou. rub. We can say that it is affordable for many Russians. But it won’t cut your water bill too much, since it only uses 12 liters per cycle. It is also possible to make certain claims to energy consumption – for each dishwashing it takes about 1.03 kWh, which now corresponds to three or four rubles, depending on the region where you live. It also complies with energy class A+.
This dishwasher has a leak-proof design. However, the manufacturer is silent as to whether it is full or partial loading. As practically any other dishwasher, it has electronic control. It’s really easy to figure out. Among the buttons you can find segment display, which shows how long it takes to run each of the four programs. Unfortunately, there is no indicator on the floor, so you won’t know exactly when the process is over. But if it is frustrating, the half-load mode is a joy – with it you do not need to save dishes for a long time. Also among the available programs we should highlight the delicate and express modes. And there is no provision for intensive washing. If your dishes are very dirty, you might have to rinse them under the tap or rinse them again.
There is no sensor of water purity, which is not difficult to guess. The capacity reaches 14 sets, which will even impress some people. It is pleasant that the noise level does not exceed 44 dB. We can also note the convenient design – the height of the dish basket can be adjusted without any problems, and the complete holder for glasses easily finds its place. The manufacturer has not forgotten about the delayed start timer.
Advantages

- Low noise level;

- No water purity sensor.
Conclusion
It’s amazing, but the range of dishwashers is getting wider by the day. That is why our list is so long. This variety of existing models shows that the welfare of the inhabitants of Russia is gradually improving. Moreover, we live in bigger and bigger apartments and houses, because in most of the cases it is impossible to find a place for a dishwasher in a small house. We can only be happy about it.
