Features of growing peppers in the greenhouse
Peppers have a long growing season, so the seedlings must grow to plant for at least 60 days, and for some varieties even longer. But do not allow peppers to flower in the room – if a crown flower is formed in the fork of the main stem, after transplanting, the growth of peppers will slow down – all efforts will go to the formation of the first fruit. Even if the crown flower is cut off, it may reappear.
In the greenhouse seedlings planted only in warm soil. If the stem is not yet woody, which is usually the case, the plant can sink a little – at this stage it is still able to grow additional roots. Otherwise, seedlings are planted without deepening.
To obtain a full harvest it is very important to provide peppers with the right conditions:
- Easy soil, rich in organic matter;
- A comfortable temperature of 23-26 degrees;
- air humidity 75%;
- Full illumination all day long.
Plants will need regular watering – the root system of peppers is superficial and poorly tolerates the lack of moisture. Feeding is equally important, frequent, but not too concentrated. The vast majority of varieties require shaping and garter.
