*Editor’s Review of the Best. About the selection criteria. This material is subjective, not an advertisement and does not serve as a guide to purchase. You should consult with an expert before buying.
65-inch TVs have become a kind of compromise for users: on the one hand, their display is big enough for comfortable viewing of TV programs, and on the other hand, such models are not too expensive. At the present stage, they are all equipped with Smart TV function: the only difference is the platform on which it is implemented.
Since this segment of the market has become very popular in the past 2 years, the editors of Expertology magazine made a rating of the 11 best 65-inch TVs. The following characteristics were used to select products for the final list:
- image transmission quality;
- implementation of the sound system;
- progressive features;
- Owner reviews and in-house experts’ opinions;
- reliability parameters;
- Matching basic functionality to the asking price.
The analysis of technical specifications was carried out on the resource

OLED LG OLED65W9P
Rating: 4.9

The choice between two candidates of equal value was very difficult, but as a result the first line of the rating went to LG OLED65W9P. In fact, it is a complete alternative to the Samsung QE65Q90RAU with slightly modified equal features. So, instead of the ecosystem from Yandex, this TV supports LG Smart ThinQ, and the sound is provided by the same 6 speakers with subwoofer and Dolby Atmos, only from another brand. By the way, they are placed on a separate panel, reducing the weight of the device for an unobstructed mounting bracket.
As the experts point out, you can spot the difference between competing models only if you know how TVs with OLED and QLED matrices should work. The refresh rate in LG OLED65W9P is also 100 Hz with a program increase to 200. There’s virtual reality support, display blackout mode, remote control and voice control implementation. And the amount of internal memory here is 8 GB, because of what the model works significantly faster than its rival. However, this plus can be compensated by a huge price – it is a discouraging factor for consumers.
Advantages
- Full technological and technical equipment in accordance with the requirements of modern standards;
- Removed sound bar, which makes the device easier to mount on the wall;
- availability of voice control;
- great design;
- The highest quality image transmission.
Disadvantages
- The price for a TV set comes to 335 thousand rubles.
QLED Samsung QE65Q90RAU
Rating: 4.8

Samsung QE65Q90RAU has followed in the footsteps of QE65Q67RAU, correcting some deficiencies and moved into the category of premium 65-inch screens. Best of all: It combines superb picture quality with spectacular sound thanks to 6 speakers with a combined power of 60 watts. Together with the tweeters, the model has a compact subwoofer and a surround sound system – not every home stereo can compete with such a set.
As for the other aspects of the TV, everything is completely identical to QE65Q67RAU: go down on the 4th line of the rating and repeat what you have passed. The only difference is even more cumbersome (35 kg together with the stand) and power consumption (255 W). The rest does not need a special introduction.
Advantages
- Quality sound system upgrade: 6 speakers + subwoofer;
- Motion Rate at 200 Hz, Picture Qua
- ty Index with an increased frequency of 3.7 kHz;
- availability of Direct F dimming system
- l Array E
- te;
- Belongs to the Yandex Smart Home ecosystem;
- Has voice control and a decorative Ambient-mode.
Flaws
- Bulky TV with a fairly high power consumption.
NanoCell LG 65SM9800
Rating: 4.7
This screen relies on the technology and the abundance of attractive features. But among users, alas, could not find a proper response. The “one-sidedness” of the creators who spit upon the external data for the sake of revolutionary filling is to blame. Replace the TFT IPS matrix with a QLED, and all problems are solved! But no: we’ll settle for what we have. But with local screen darkening, Dolby Vision support, HDR10 and
- tra HD 4k, as well as a screen refresh rate of 100 Hz.
- Special emphasis on the sound quality (4 speakers 10W + subwoofer and a set of additional features);
- Part of the LG Smart ThinQ ecosystem;
- Includes more than a dozen advanced features;
- voice control.
- TFT IPS matrix.
- Ambient mode, allowing the TV to fit in seamlessly with its surroundings;
- dimming function
- UHD Dimming;
- Motion Rate, which increases the refresh rate up to 200 Hz;
- Smart Home system, thanks to which it can be part of the Smart Home ecosystem of Yandex.
- The price tag of almost 100 thousand roubles looks quite justified in view of such features.
- The visual style changed for the better;
- an abundance of a variety of additional functions;
- Picture Qua
- The QE65Q67RAU has a frequency of 3.3 kHz;
- Good value for money.
- A bulky TV with high power consumption.
- Support for Dolby (Vision and Atmos);
- There is a local dimming of the screen;
- built-in ambient light sensor;
- surround sound;
- High quality color reproduction.
- great weight.
- Support for virtual reality technology;
- Relatively low weight (21 kg);
- a wide range of brightness settings;
- catchy proprietary design.
- The price differentiation is big (from 75 to 128 thousand rubles);
- No support for Dolby Atmos technology.
- The ability to connect to Samsung’s internal ecosystem and to the Smart Home from Yandex;
- refresh rate of 100 Hz;
- acceptable sound quality.
- The problems with the ergonomics of the TV and the remote control.
- Possibility to connect to the “smart home” system;
- refresh rate 100 Hz;
- VR glasses support;
- control with voice commands.
- On some devices there are problems with recognition of voice commands.
- powerful and stable Direct LED backlight;
- loud, surround sound;
- Stable performance of the applications in Smart TV mode.
- Increased power consumption;
- Small contrast adjustment range.
- nux. The latter allows it to work well with the applications, but setting the broadcasting parameters for many is too difficult.
By the way, despite the sophisticated look TCL L65P6US weighs about 22.5 kilos. This fact should be taken into account both when installing and when transporting. Despite the same 8W speakers this TV-set sounds much better than BBK: the reason for that is the surround sound function with Dolby Atmos and DTS codecs support. This model has a storage device for recording of TV programs, so you can postpone your favorite show for a later time, in case you have serious concerns. The settings are also fine, except that the 8 ms pixel latency did not go anywhere.
Advantages
- A very good stereo system with surround sound support;
- refresh rate of 60 Hz;
- Availability of the storage for recording programs;
- wireless support.
Disadvantages
- inconvenient and complicated setup menu.
BBK 65LEX-8127/UTS2C
Rating: 4.0
Technics of BBK is gradually losing relevance among domestic consumers, and the TV 65LEX-8127/UTS2C is not a big exception to the rules. Despite the fact that its parameters, in general, are similar to competitors, users were able to find a few nuances. But first about the pros. It supports high-definition format with 4k UHD resolution, comes preloaded with Android Smart TV 2019, LED backlighting and pre-installed DVB and Teletext receivers. 1,100 channels are built-in by default and for many this is the deciding factor for their purchase.
The built-in stereo BBK 65LEX-8127/UTS2C can be called pretty good: two speakers 8 watts each give you quality sound, but a subwoofer or soundbar would be nice. Picture quality is also impressive: brightness is adjustable up to 300 cd/m
2 , The contrast is 4000:1, and viewing angles are optimal (178 °). The refresh rate is generally neutral (50 Hz), but the pixel response time, equal to 8 ms, can be called a small disadvantage. Also note the dissatisfaction of users about the speed of installed applications – it means that 2 GB of RAM just can not cope with the load.Advantages
- A relatively small weight: 19.3 kg;
- 3 HDMI ports 2.0 and 2 USB;
- Not bad stereo sound (but a full-fledged acoustic system would not hurt either).
Disadvantages
- Friszes and hangs of installed applications are observed;
- pixel response time.
In addition to being part of the LG Smart ThinQ ecosystem and a whole suite of advanced features, the LG 65SM9800 relies heavily on sound quality. That’s why two more speakers were added to the two standard ones, and their total power is 40 watts. Given the automatic volume equalization, surround sound support, Dolby Atmos and the presence of a subwoofer, no additional stereo is out of the question. It is also worth noting the presence of voice control in the device, 2 GB of internal memory, as well as the system
ue Motion, which increases the screen refresh rate to 200 Hz. The revolutionary thing. Advantages

QLED Samsung QE65Q67RAU
Rating: 4.7
Slowly but surely we got to TVs with QLED display. Samsung QE65Q67RAU is one of the brightest representatives of this segment, which has received the highest rating of quality from Russian buyers. It is based on the Tizen system, through which the Smart TV technology is implemented. Useful features include picture transmission standards in the
- HD 4k and HDR10+, as well as progressive scan.
Like all Samsung representatives, the QE65Q67RAU is bulky (26 kg) and high power consumption (203 W). However, it has a couple of cool solutions:
Advantages
Disadvantages
anasonic TX-65GXR900
Rating: 4.6
anasonic TX-65GXR900 is a rather interesting LED TV. On the one hand, it has more modest personal picture display settings. On the other hand: its progressiveness goes to a new level. Among the formats of work is not only
- HD 4k, but also HDR10, HDR10+, and even Dolby Vision. Along with smart backlighting, it has a Local Dimming screen function, and the dynamic scene index reaches a value of 1600 points.
Besides the standard 2x10W speaker set, the Panasonic TX-65GXR900 has built-in digital receivers and a whole set of connection ports (HDMI, USB, AV and component input are among them). There is support for Dolby Atmos, which allows you to get high-quality stereo sound without additional headset. The only serious disadvantage of the model can be called a large weight (27.5 kilograms), which can negatively affect the desire to hang the TV on the wall.

Disadvantages
LG 65UU661H
Rating: 4.5
The LG 65UU661H ranks sixth due to its high quality in terms of both reliability and functionality. Despite the 50Hz refresh rate, the model provides excellent technical parameters, including for flexible customization of the picture display. The brightness can be adjusted up to 500 cd/m
2 , There is a progressive scan, and the viewing angle is 178 °.Unlike its previous competitor, this screen has no affinity for the Smart Home system, but does support VR 360 and features Pro:Centric software, an exclusive from LG. Otherwise the differences are minimal: the sound system has lost Dolby support, the TV set itself consumes 177 W of power and has “lost” a couple of extra pounds. The design is far superior to the UE65RU7200U from Samsung – it makes no sense to argue with the obvious.
Advantages
Shortcomings
Samsung UE65RU7200U
Rating: 4.5
An important difference between Samsung UE65RU7200U and LG 65UM740 is that the first can be connected not only to the brand ecosystem of Samsung SmartThings, but also to the “Smart Home” from Yandex. In this regard, they are pre-installed Alice voice assistant, which works much better than the basic LG assistant.
As for the rest, the model almost exactly repeats the capabilities of the opponent, except that the quality of the image transmission is better (with the same refresh rate of 100 Hz). But in terms of ergonomics there are slight problems. The fact that the already heavy TV (25.1 kg) comes with a 3 kg stand. On the one hand, bad, but on the other foot can perform a camouflage function – under it hides the connection wires. Note also the uncomfortable remote control and the “annoying” frames, not thin enough to be unnoticeable and not wide enough to leave questions about the design.
Advantages
Disadvantages
LG 65UM7450
Rating: 4.4
Despite the seemingly pinpoint changes the difference between the LG 65UM740 and the previous competitor is very substantial. Frame refresh rate here is 100 Hz, there is a flicker suppression system and Direct LED backlighting, finalized in LG’s labs. Note the many additional features, such as support for virtual reality helmets and voice control. Smart TV works on webOS and is characterized by fast loading, especially with a high-speed, uninterrupted Internet connection.
The stereo system is similar to the Toshiba 65U5855EC and allows you to do without additional speakers. By the way, the TV set can be a part of LG Smart ThinQ ecosystem and become a part of Smart Home. The cost of the model varies greatly from a bargain 47 to the expected 66 thousand rubles – we advise to search well all available offers.
Advantages
Disadvantages
Toshiba 65U5855EC
Rating: 4.3
We think that the starting point to understand the important technical characteristics of TVs is given. Let’s focus on the particularly important aspects, keeping in mind that all their other characteristics are equal and identical. In the case of Toshiba 65U5855EC we can note the weak contrast ratio (only 1200:1) and high power consumption equal to 180 W. This is probably due to the more powerful installed speakers (2x10W) with Dolby Digital decoder and volume equalization function.
In this model, the manufacturers have abandoned the use of standard LED, replacing it with a Direct-version of backlighting. Turned out better than TCL, but worse than LG and Samsung. As the operating system for Smart TV is the Android platform, and it works more stable than the BBK 65LEX-8127/UTS2C.

Disadvantages
TCL L65P6US
Rating: 4.1
The line above is the TV from TCL, which has gained good support among users. Compared to its competitor from BBK it looks just great: it supports not only 4k UHD, but also HDR 10, has a refresh rate of 60 Hz and is based on the system
