Epson L1800
Rating: 4.9

At one time it was Epson that revolutionized the market and launched the first printer with a built-in CISS – L800. Now the line is actively developing, and the flagship model has been upgraded to L1800. The equipment is designed for true connoisseurs of high quality images. The construction of the CISS includes six tanks for the ink, refilling which takes no more than a minute. And the starter kit is quite enough for 1.5 thousand photos in size 10×15 (cost per page – about 1.5 rubles). The maximum resolution is impressive – 5760×1440 dpi. This is the most among the models presented in the ranking. The drop size at the same time is 1.5ml.
The Epson L1800 works with virtually any paper. Density can be up to 300 g/m
Potential buyers of the printer may be discouraged by its high price, bulky equipment, low resource capacity in comparison with competitors, lack of popular features (Wi-Fi, auto power on, auto off). It does not print on film and labels, and after long use it unstably grabs glossy paper. But the L1800 tops the list because of its record-setting performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness. With sufficient daily workload the price of the model pays for itself several dozen times over.
Advantages
- The ability to print in A3 format;
- photo printing;
- Maximum resolution – 5760×1440 dpi;
- The minimum drop volume is 1.5 ppm;
- it works with heavy paper (300 g/m2);
- 6 colors;
- clever design for leak-free transportation;
- official warranty – 30000 prints.
Disadvantages
- a very high price;
- the printer does not print on film, labels;
- The resource of all ink tanks is 1800 pages;
- High weight – 12,5 kg;
- Problems with gripping glossy paper;
- Lack of Wi-Fi, auto shutoff, and some other features.
Epson L810
Rating: 4.8

Next, let’s consider also quite expensive, but highly effective printer with CISS, and this efficiency occurs in several planes at once. The machine is made in Indonesia.
This is a 6-color printer that is part of a series the manufacturer itself calls the “Print Factory”. The colors themselves: classic CMYK, plus two more – light blue and light magenta.
One of the main advantages, emphasized by the producer – “record low cost price of printing”. It is hard to check this statement, so it is debatable.
On the other hand, the flow/performance ratio of the device is really impressive. For example, with the capacity of ink containers in 70ml each, the resource of just one starter set of ink is about 1800 photos of 10×15 size.
Let us mention some more important technical parameters: the printer supports A4 size, maximum resolution – 5760×1440 dpi, printing speed 37-38 pages per minute, technology – inkjet, piezoelectric.
Useful Options: the ability to print on optical discs, printing without connecting to a computer directly from the memory card, printing directly from cameras (Pict
idge).
The users have a generally good opinion of this model, but there are some complaints of a non-systemic nature, which are probably due to not the most correct and proper operation. The real system complaint about the model is the bulkiness. The 542x196x386 mm dimensions, in principle, confirm this quite well.
From Yandex user review.Market with the status Gadget Inspector level 2: “We took it to the office to replace the photo printer on conventional cartridges – no difference in quality, but because of the CISS it is easy to refill, a lot of ink, print almost for nothing. Delivers fast results. colors are saturated, transfers the right shades, great machine”.
Advantages
- 6-color printing;
- Low cost of printing;
- high print resolution;
- Ability to print without connecting to a computer from external media and cameras;
- Borderless printing;
- printing on optical disks;
- high print speed.
Disadvantages
- bulky.
Epson L805
Rating: 4.7

Another printer from the famous company Epson of the same series L800 but more simple and much cheaper. As of May 2021, it is one and a half times cheaper on average than the L810, depending on the point of sale.
If you compare technical parameters of L805 and the above mentioned L810, it seems that there is practically no difference and “why pay more”. Indeed, in key points such as color (6 cartridges), resolution (5760×1440 dpi), printing speed and other important points, these two models are actually virtually identical. Differences in nuances. And this is where both printers have advantages.
For example, L805 has no LCD control panel and for many this will be a serious inconvenience. On the other hand, L805 has a Wi-Fi module and supports cloud printing, which the “big brother” is not able to. One more nuance – L805 has no card reader, and it can not print from flash drives, it necessarily needs a connection to a computer, while L810 can work completely independently. Then the L805 is not so huge and heavy, its dimensions are 537x289x187 mm and it weighs 2 kg less – 6 kg.
Experienced and knowledgeable users in their reviews strongly emphasize that the printer can reach its full potential only when using certain photo paper. All 5700 dpi with all the sharpness and expressiveness can only be realized on microporous paper (satin or gloss), even by a third-party manufacturer. Other options will produce blurry.
From Yandex user review.Market with a Level 2 Gadget Inspector status: “One of the most reliable printers. For successful work it is desirable to make immediately waste ink, then the printer will last much longer than the declared period of operation. The warranty will not be violated, the printer does not need to be disassembled, there is a small cover on the back of the printer.”.
Advantages
- Expressive print quality if the right paper is used;
- Wi-Fi;
- cloud printing;
- high print speed;
- high resolution;
- 6-color printing;
- Low cost of printing.
Disadvantages
- difficulties with the Wi-Fi setting up.
Epson M1120
Rating: 4.7

Now let’s look at one almost budget and quite specific, but well-proven model produced by Epson. The specifics of this printer is that it is monochrome, that is, provides only black and white printing.
The printer is specifically designed to be optimal for use in a small office for those needs where there is no need for color printing, but low cost printing is important. It’s compact with dimensions of 375x161x267 mm and it weighs very little – 3.5 kg.
Even being monochrome at this price the printer is far from breaking the resolution record, as the options described above, here it is 1440×720 dpi. At the same time we have an impressive capacity of the starter ink tank with pigment ink – 5000 prints. Printing speed is decent – up to 32 pages per minute.
It is noteworthy that even such a rather inexpensive model has a Wi-Fi module, so that the question of easy connection is also solved initially.
What users appreciate most about this model is the affordable price and the really low cost of printing – this becomes evident at high volumes. Also users in the mass note the high speed.
Unfortunately, the printer is not without its disadvantages. System comments come in about the rather loud operation and not perfectly smooth paper feed. About the second, it does not matter for all, as it is still not about a photo printer.
From Yandex user review.Market with the status of the Level 3 Gadget Inspector: “Fast printing speed, ink lasts for a long time (in 7 months has not yet refilled once), printing via wi fi, low cost of printing, ready to work long with large documents”.
Advantages
- Wi-Fi;
- Big capacity of the container with ink;
- Almost record low cost of printing;
- compact;
- easy refilling;
- nice design.
Disadvantages
- a little noisy in operation;
- Not perfectly even paper feed.
Canon PIXMA G1411
Rating: 4.6

Though the brand Epson dominates our review, we will give our attention to another producer – Canon and its well proven PIXMA G1411 printer. For the price it is not particularly cheaper than the previous one, but it is noteworthy for a number of remarkable qualities.
This is a color printer, desktop, not to say that it is very compact – 445x135x330 mm, but also not large. Designed mainly for home use.
If you compare it to the Epson M1120, the print resolution here is strikingly different for the better – 4800×1200 dpi for both color options. But you have to understand that this is not a photo printer and not a premium class, so you should not expect any photographic quality from it.
Print speed here, of course, many users are frustrated – 8.8 ppm for black and white and 5 ppm for color. Compared to the models described above, it’s a little depressing, and we honestly consider it a major drawback of the model.
What the users appreciate most about this model is the low cost of printing and minimum ink consumption. Many also note usability and ultimate control accessibility. There are occasional complaints about overuse of ink for nozzle cleaning, but these are isolated cases that don’t tell the whole story.
Advantages
- high resolution printing;
- Easy and convenient operation;
- low ink consumption;
- affordable price
- affordable price for consumables.
Disadvantages
- slow print speed.

Epson L120
Rating: 4.5

Epson L120 – budget representative of the line, the most affordable model in the rating. But this printer with CISS is better to bypass at once, if you plan to produce high-quality photos. First of all, there is no borderless printing function. Secondly, the 720×720 dpi resolution will not allow for high definition images. But for standard office tasks Epson L120 fits perfectly.
Traditionally the manufacturer has placed the main emphasis on reducing the cost of a print. For example, a color page of A4 paper costs only 20 kopecks. Envelopes, cards, films can be produced with the Epson L120 (maximum paper weight is 95 g/m
The disadvantages include the low speed of only 5 A4 pages per minute. But it’s compact, weighs only 2.4 kg, easily connects to any computer.
