    The choice of a method for an increase in space on the balcony depends on the type of balcony and its size, the height of the floor, the current operational state, the ultimate redevelopment objective.

    Balconies are distinguished by type of construction:

    • On cantilever beams. The carrier plate is supported by steel beams, in blurred in the wall of the facade of the building at 40-50cm. Used mainly in the homes of the old fund. .

    Expansion on the windowsill

    Expansion according to the technology of “Kosyanka”, produced during the glazing of the balcony with the removal. This method requires smaller time and cash costs and can be carried out without legalizing changes. Its essence lies in the fact that metal profiles (designs from channels and corners) are welded to the existing railing), on which a remote window sill width from 10 to 35cm is located.

    The area of ​​the floor remains the same, but visually the volume of space increases, and the place is released on the functional windowsill and above it.

The weight of one-piece design depends on the type of materials used for glazing.     There are three options:

    The process of capital expansion on the base of the slab consists of the following steps:

    Is it possible to increase without permission?

    • Works are performed in strict accordance with the plan. Most of the changes made to the configuration of the residential premises and its architectural appearance are mandatory consistent and must be approved in all instances.

    There is a risk that capital changes will not be approved, so some details must be taken into account:

    The order of work on expanding with your own hands

    The increase in the area of ​​the balcony without the involvement of specialists is a complicated, but feasible. To perform it, necessary: ​​the ability to work with a welding machine, knowledge of the basic properties of materials (in particular, the strength and characteristics of metal structures), knowledge of the safety bases for performing work at the level of the first floor.

    All works are performed at least with one partner, with strict safety.

    Start in any case follows from the project. Whatever changes – a wide windowsill for flower pots or turning a balcony in a living room, they should be carried out on legal grounds. If there is no time and desire to hammer the thresholds of housing and communal and administrative organizations, it can be limited to an increase in the balcony area by 30 cm.

    Next comes a queue of standard balcony preparation procedures for redevelopment. It starts with elementary cleaning, and ends with the dismantling of the old parapet.

    Parapet cuts almost completely. You can leave 30-40 centimeters of the length of the carrier racks that are needed for the welding of a new frame. Then on the wall of the building facade of the building fixes the frame of the rectangular shape – a new bearing base of the balcony.

    First of all, the upper and lower metal pipes are installed in parallel above each other. They lay the length of the extended floor. Most often to avoid difficulties in coordinating the project, the length of the removal does not exceed the half-meter.

    The next step is the installation of vertical pipes. They are mounted in the crossbar in the same way as the first two and fixed by anchor bolts. Then the metal frame is welded at four corners. It turns out a one-piece, monolithic, reliable design, providing a new balcony frame.

    On the frame you can already mount the mounted balcony. The procedure begins with the formation of the lower crate, that is, first the floor is built. Form its profiled pipes that are paved perpendicular to the vertical of the facade of the building and weld to the frame.

    On, conventionally designated, the second stage is carried out in the vertical plane. A pair of vertical racks is installed and welded, to which the contour of the cutting frame will later fall. When he is welded, the whole design should resemble the parallelepiped in the wall. Hold its durable anchor bolts and safety crossbar located below the diagonal.

    The most difficult behind. At the final stage, horizontal crossbars of the new parapet are installed, which will keep windows with glazing. In the intervals between the crossbars, vertical guides required for fastening cladding from the inner and outdoor side and insulation should be welded. Distance between guides – 50-100cm.

    When the facade of the new balcony is equipped, there comes a queue of another time-consuming procedure – balcony glazing. How it will (cold or warm) and from which materials (aluminum, wood, PVC) depends on the type and weight of the exhaust design. If it is massive in itself, it is not necessary to increase the load on the beams and the stove, limiting the aluminum profile. If the performance state allows you to use heavier materials that give “warm” glazing, you can stay on the PVC-frame with double-glazed windows of different thicknesses installed at different distances.

    Such an option is the most aesthetic and allows the maximum to maintain heat in the cold season.

    Expansion of the apartment at the expense of the balcony in “Khrushchev”

    Reconstruction of the premises of the Old Fund deserves separate attention. Small-sized “Khrushchev” were built in the sixties of the last century, so some of them relate to housing, which is not distinguished by reliability.
