The owners of country sites always want their territory to look beautiful and worthy. Therefore for landscaping and giving a spectacular type of territory, the Tui. The species of such plants are quite a lot, and each of them has its own unique features, but today we will only dwell on one. It is called Tuya Western “Golden Smaragd”.
Description of varieties
“Golden Smaragd”, which can be literally translated as “Golden Emerald” – this is a variety for the first time created in Poland by a breeder Edward Cube. The sizes of the planted village are at first small, and it grows pretty slow – a maximum of 20 cm per year. By the ten-year-old age, Tuya reaches a 2.5 meter mark and subsequently continues to increase, turning up to 5 meters and more.
Coupling in the plant green-golden, which led his name, they remain all year round. If you lose the “foliage” fingers, you can feel the familiar cool aroma of needles. In the spring, small bumps are formed on the tree, the autumn thuza dumps them. Kronea from Golden Smaragda conical shape, upstairs narrows. In the width can reach almost 2 meters, but mostly the indicators range between 1 and 1.8 meters.
Wood lives long – up to 100 years old, but to achieve a similar mark, requires good care and care.
Sit down, as a rule, in autumn or spring. Spring landing is preferable, because during the summer the plant will strengthen, acclimatizes and completely burns on the plot. If the time is already missed, you can plant it in the fall, but it is impossible to delay, you must try to do it as early as possible. Only so the plant will have the opportunity to at least develop a little until winter to survive her. By the way, if you bought it in a pot, you can put it in early June.
The first preparatory stage for landing is the selection of the site. Unlike many other plants, Golden Smaragd does not suffer too much from sunburn, so you can land it in open locality.
Shaded and shadow areas – a bad idea, the tree will grow slowly, and the attractiveness of the crown does not have to wait. In addition, the plot is better to choose not too blowable.
The soil in which Tue has to grow should be loose and light. The optimal option is a combination of peat, sandstone and chernozem. Make sure that the groundwater does not proceed to the surface. If there are no other options, you will have to make a thorough drainage from clay, broken pieces of bricks, clay dishes, pebbles. Having finished all the necessary preparations, you can proceed directly to planting plants. Evaluating the size of the Earth’s Coma of the Tui, a hole is digging at the site of landing, at least 2 times higher than the parameters of the coma. The depth of the pit – near the meter, the 15-centimeter layer of drainage should be placed on the bottom. When landing, make sure that the root cervix plant is not buried to the ground. In addition, the lower part of the “foliage” should not be located right on the soil.
Then comes well moisturize and leave for about an hour to grind. After half the pits fall asleep soil and install strictly in the middle. The remaining ground is added to the supassed tue, and then mulched. To do this, it would be nice to apply sawdust, humus, peat. Such protection will help the plant faster to root and save it from frost, overheating, as well as pests.
Care for “Golden Smaragd” is not too complicated and burdensome, but the concern should be regular. The first condition for harmonious development is, of course, watering. Thuja of this variety requires stable moisture, so it will be possible to water it once a week. If you do not adhere to this rule, the plant will begin to dry, lose attractiveness. Muka Western and sprinkle, after which her cupins acquire a beautiful glitter, and dust and small pests are cleaned with water. After watering the ground near the plant, it is advisable to brag. Thus, you will provide oxygen access to the root system of the village. You need to loosen not too deep – no more than 10 cm, because the roots are located close to the surface of the earth.
Trimming is another rule that should take note of the gardener. There are several types of trim, but the most sought-after from them is sanitary. It is produced at any time but winter. Such a procedure is designed to deliver a tree from dry, sick, depleted branches. After her, Tui appears new forces, which she will no longer spend on the opposed specimens.
Performing the procedure, you need to remember that all twigs are cut off with a sharp disinfected secret, having hands strictly forbidden.
In addition, there is a deep trimming, which allows you to give the shape of Crown. Features of such trimming are due to the goal with which the plant is planted. For example, if you grow a thuja in the form of a small hedge, you will need to cut the tops from time to time. Also, do not forget that the distance between individual bushes should be at least half a meter. Closer neighborhood will lead to the plexus of the roots, thickening, and the culture will begin to wake up the lack of oxygen and pests.
Several times a year, Thua will need fertilizers. For this purpose, comprehensive feeders for coniferous plants should be purchased. The first feeding is held in April, then in May, and the last one – at the very end of summer. In the autumn period, it is impossible to fertilize in any case, since even the most high-quality fertilizer can provoke the death of the root system from freezing. It is also necessary to take into account that the first year of life, the first year of life, feed fertilizers, the concentration of which twice the recommended.
Diseases and pests
With good and conscientious caring, Western western face amazed diseases extremely rare. But it still happens, therefore it is worth being ready for everything. Let’s consider the main diseases of the Tui, as well as methods of combating them.
- Fungal defaults. Fungi provoking phytoofluorosis and various types of rot, long ago began to make gardeners. It is possible to determine the disease by the characteristic smell rot from the ground, the yellowing and fading of shoots, the appearance of mold. As soon as the “diagnosis” is delivered, all sick shoots are immediately cut and burned away from the site. The remaining parts of the plant are treated with strong fungicides. Also, remember that if the disease is recognized late, and the fungus has already neglected the roots, you need to dig completely, replacing the land in which it grew.
- Toy false school – these are tiny malicious bugs breeding with an enviable speed. About their appearance will be told by yellowish yazens, which every day will become more and more. Treatment should be rapid, otherwise the plant of shortness threatens death. Insecticides like “Carbofos” apply insecticides. You can also purchase a special adhesive tape, which will prevent insect movement by the trunk.
- Rust. This disease, as sewing, is basically affecting only young trees. Plants are noticeably faded, dry, the crown darkens, and the needles fall out. The first thing to be done is to remove all branches affected by the ailment. The plant is then sprayed with the drug “Hom”, replace it with a borodovka mixture. If the treatment is manufactured, but no results, try “Fundazole”. In the bucket of water are divorced 20 g of the means, then watered the ground near the thuly, the spraying is not required.
Remember that most diseases arise exactly due to the fault of the gardener. These may result in different errors:
- irregular watering;
- lack or excess fertilizer;
- disturbance between trees;
- Invalid selection of a plot or soil.
To protect the Tui, always feel about the care of them responsibly, and at the first signs of the diseases necessarily carry out preventive spraying for other plants located on the site, especially coniferous.
