Today’s guest in the long list of presented raspberry varieties – Himbo Top (synonym – Latin name Himbo-TOP) belonging to large-scale varieties of repair type. The ability to transfer transportation to long-range distances allows you to grow grade for implementation.

History of removal of varieties

Himbo Top is the result of the talented work of Swiss breeders from Rafc communes, which is located in the canton of Zurich. Authority belongs to Peter Haunstein (Peter Hauenstein). In the work were used as parents from Farm Bliss and Himbo Queen. As far as it is known, Peter Huentein called his brainchild Rafzaqu, but he gave the right to the variety of the famous trade company Promo-Fruit AG. Before the consumer, Malina reached her today, registered as an international trading mark.

Description of varieties

Himbo Top is a stronger powerful bush height of 1.5-2 meters with large emission shoots covered with purple short spikes. At the same time, the plant issues a limited number of substitution shoots, which does not interfere with the active build-up of lateral twigs and obtaining high yields. Fruit shoots reach 80 cm long and need backups during the ripeness of berries. Branches are covered with complex 3- and 5-lamellar wrinkled leaves with a color from light to a dark green shade. During flowering, shoots are covered with large white flowers, assembled in highly branched brushes, which ensures high decorativeness of the bush.

Timing of ripening

The variety is removable, so it fertures both in annual and on biennia shoots. Difference in the timing of ripening berries – two-year branches give a mature berry much earlier than one-air. That is why ripening harvest takes quite a long time – up to two months, and during this time, the gardener has time to collect 2 harvest. Fruit period falls on June and then August, September.

Regions growing

Himbo top grows perfectly and perfectly fruits in the regions of the middle strip of our country. However, if its cultivation is engaged in more severe latitudes, the amount of crop is noticeably declining – the last berry simply does not have time to achieve technical and physiological ripeness.

Malina Himbo Top refers to high-yielding varieties – from 1 bush collect up to 3 kg of berries, with hectares – up to 15 tons.

Berries and their taste

Bright red large berries of the conical shape of a saturated red color weigh from 6 to 8 grams. The pulp of medium density has a pleasant dessert sweet taste with light sourness and severe raspberry aroma. Tasting points steadily high.

Features of cultivation

The variety needs a good agrotechnology, which allows to receive a high harvest and high-quality berry. The process itself is similar to the care of any raspberry varieties and can be cultivated even in the garden-novice garden. The basic condition is observing a significant distance between bushes and rows, respectively – 150×300 cm. For planting young seedlings, testers are preparing a trench depth to half a meter and a width of 60 cm.

Choosing a place and soil preparation

Time for planting gardeners traditionally choose autumn, although spring gives excellent results – for the summer, young plants have time to increase the powerful root system. For growing chosen solar sections with afternoon shading. The soil is prepared in advance, about a half months. Copy trenches, strengthen the walls, arrange a drainage layer, the soil refuel with complex mineral fertilizers and organic. When landing the roots neatly straighten, fall asleep by the soil, watching not to burst the root neck. The ground around the seedling is sealing and spilled well.

For grade himbo top pruning required. Spend it in the fall, after removing the crop, removing those who spent bilateral shoots and did not have time to wend. Spring spend sanitary trimming, removing patients and sorrow.

Watering and feeding

Drought-resistant raspberries Himbo top needs a standard waterway scheme – as needed. Here is much more important not frequency, and the depth – the soil should be soaked in half the meter. So that the moisture does not spread before heresses the land, it is best to leave in the trench. After irrigation, you need to carry out mulching, which will save moisture and save the Earth from drying out and cracking.

Feeding starts from the second year, to that plant enough food made by landing. Spring is needed nitrogen fertilizers, in the summer of potash-phosphorus, the autumn organic – compost, litter, humus.

Frost resistance and preparation for winter

Himbo top is characterized by excellent winter hardiness, but in the zones of risky agriculture, the plant needs shelter for the winter. After trimming, the shoots are flexing to the ground, they pinch and cover with a sweetheart, straw or nonwoven material. Additional protection in the form of snowdrifts is only welcome.

Diseases and pests

This raspberry grade has high resistance to the amazing fungal diseases and pests. Nevertheless, the plant needs preventive processing insecticides and fungicides. From fungal diseases, “Phytosporin”, “Oxycho”, “Topaz”. To prevent the attacks of pests, use such drugs as “spark”, “karate”, “carbofos” and others.

Unfortunately, the chimbo top gives little root offspring, therefore the breeding of the core-growing seedlings is very problematic, especially since they are very bad. For its breeding, the saplings have to buy, and the fault of that originators. It is their efforts to reduce the formation of root processes led to a deficit of their own landing material. In nurseries to buy young plants of this variety can always.
