In room conditions blooming drazes very rarely.

Of all the varieties of this kind of Drazen, Janet Craig is distinguished by a saturated dark green homogeneous color of foliage without grooves and inclusions. The plant has, as a rule, one straight trunk is 5-6 cm in diameter and can reach height to 4 m. The drazen is growing up, so as the height increases the old leaves from the barrel, leaving the characteristic gray stripes.

Home care

Despite the fact that Drazenna Janet Craig is the rainforest of Southeast Africa, it is unpretentious in leaving and perfectly adapted to growing in room conditions in a sharply continental climatic zone. Watering the plant follows as the soil drying (before irrigated, it is recommended to jumble soil: the dry layer should be at least 2 cm).

Excessive watering for drazes may be destructive: the plant is easily loaded. In the autumn-winter period, watering can be reduced to 1-2 times a month, but the soil should be loosen at least once a week. Watering the plant follows in the pallet of the indentioned water temperature. Do not neglect the regular spraying of the leaves. This is especially important if there is dry air indoors.

In the winter months, spraying can completely replace watering.

Temperature and feeding

To the temperature of the drazes is not very sensitive, but prefers cool rooms, where the temperature does not rise above 20-22 ° C. But at temperatures below 15 °, the plant can easily die. This type of dracer does not need good lighting. On the contrary, with bright light, the plant often begins to root: the leaves are withering, dried around the edges, and yellow spots appear on them. But when transferred to a more shaded place, the drazes again acquires a healthy appearance.

Like any room plant, Drazen Janet Craig requires regular feeding of mineral fertilizers during active growth (from March to October). Suitable for this any universal fertilizers that can be purchased in the horticultural store.

Impact their soil in accordance with the attached instruction.

Protection against pests

Often, when complying with all the conditions of cultivation, the drazers have signs of illness: the leaves lose an attractive appearance and fall out. It is most likely that the petty pests are most likely: a web mite, shields, trips or aphids. At the first signs of the disease, the draping should be placed in quarantine, isolating from other colors. Recognize pests in characteristic damage on the leaves:

  • The web tick leaves the characteristic rusty stains and a white sticky web, which covers all the plant;
  • Shielders are powered by cellular juice and leave the brown plaques after themselves;
  • The presence of trips can be determined by oblong white or light silver spots;
  • The wave forms noticeable colonies of whiten or light green larvae.

    It is possible to effectively deal with parasites without the use of special preparations and chemistry. At the initial stage of infection, it is enough to remove the colonies with a wet sponge or an old toothbrush, then process the leaves with soap solution.

    Conduct the procedure 2 times a week until the plant’s full recovery and once every 2 months for prevention.

    The first 3-4 growing periods of drazes are actively growing and needs regular transfers to a large capacity. Each subsequent container should be taken a little more than the previous one that the roots can normally adapt. The transplant is best done at the end of February or early March, when the plant wakes up and enters into the phase of active photosynthesis and vegetation. At the bottom of the pot (about 1/6 of the total), you should pour drainage: clamzite or small pebbles. Soil is suitable universal with the addition of sand, charcoal and vermiculite.

    Before transplanting the soil should be well moistened to save her. The plant also need to pour well and remove the entire root system from the pot of the entire root system, after which it neatly, slightly freeing the roots from the old earth, transfer to a new pot, sprinkle to the top of the earth and pour again. First, after a transplantation, it is necessary to monitor the state of the plant, avoid drying, solidification of soil and low temperatures.

    After the first 5 years of life, transplanting the dragerate once a few years as the soil is washed and exhausted.

    In indoor conditions, the drazes is well multiplied with stalling. To do this, use the top of the stem with leaves. The stem is cut at a distance of 15-20 cm from the top and put in the ground. At the same time, the stem with leaves are placed vertically, and fragments of the stem without leaves can be placed horizontally, sprinkling the earth in the middle. Then 2nd end gives the beginning of 2 new trunks.

    The fragmented plant needs regular spraying (3-5 times a day) and regular abundant irrigation. And it is also necessary to follow so that there is no bacterial infection. For this, the soil before planting can be treated with ultraviolet or antibacterial solution. Sensitive is best at the beginning of the spring after the plants applying with mineral fertilizers.

    Use in the interior

    Due to the larger sizes, Dzhante Craig dragerate is not always convenient to contain in room conditions, but it is an excellent decoration of the interiors of offices, hospitals and other institutions.
