Description of the drug Normobakt
Normobakt refers to biologically active supplements. Produced in Poland. Available in powder for solution and tablets. It is a synbiotic, that is, a drug that combines the properties of prebiotic and probiotic. It is based on lactic acid bacteria and fructooligosaccharides.
The combination of probiotics and prebiotics enhances the effect of the drug, prolonging the life of beneficial bacteria and increasing their number. Also restores the immune system resistance. Used as a source of probiotic organisms.
Normobakt is available in several variants:
Baby – as a complement for infants and toddlers;
Junior – from 3 years old, with a chocolate flavor;
Standard Normobact;
Normobakt L – with a strengthened composition for a long course.
Research and effectiveness
One study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of Normobakt in preventing dysbiosis in children during eradication of Helicobacter pylori with antibiotics. There were 59 patients from 6 to 17 years of age under observation. The results of examinations of children before and after treatment showed that antihelicobacterial therapy has a significant effect on the imbalance of the microflora. The use of Normobakt serves as an effective preventive measure.
Another study determined the effect of the drug on intestinal function in various somatic and surgical pathologies. 38 children from six months to nine years of age participated. The results showed a positive effect of Normobakt on the motor and evacuation function of the intestine. An increase in the number of beneficial bacteria was noted in most children.

Contraindications
The drug has no contraindications to use, except for allergy to the components. It can be used for very young children. Normobakt does not contain lactose, sucrose and cow’s milk proteins, so it can be prescribed for diabetes.
Side effects
Possible adverse reactions – allergies, flatulence, diarrhea. The drug is well tolerated. In case of allergies, Normobact should be avoided.
Dosage
Normobakt is taken with meals. The contents of the sachet are dissolved in water or milk. To be drunk immediately after preparation.
Children from 1 month to 3 years old are indicated 1 sachet/day. After 3 years – 1-2 sachets. Duration of use 10-14 days. After antibiotic therapy, the course may continue for 2-3 weeks.

Description of the remedy Linex
Eubiotic Linex contains lacto- and bifidobacteria. Sold in capsules, powder and liquid. Made in Slovenia. Action – normalization of gastrointestinal microflora.
The bacteria in Linex take part in the following processes:
Metabolism of bile acids and enzymes;
Increased body reactivity;
vitamin synthesis;
The synthesis of antibacterial substances.
Research and efficacy
Linex composition is natural for intestinal microflora. Lactic acid bacteria affect not only the quantitative indicator of the beneficial environment, but also take part in the synthesis of ascorbic acid and vitamins B, K, which leads to increased resistance to pathogenic agents and adverse external factors.
Bacteria in the drug inhibit the growth of bacteria through the production of metabolites that have a toxic effect against pathogens. This is also promoted by reducing acidity in the intestine and the formation of bacteriocins.

Contraindications
The only contraindication to the use of Linex is hypersensitivity to the components. The drug is safe during pregnancy.
Side effects
Linex is well tolerated. There is a possibility of a hypersensitivity reaction.
Dosage
It is taken after meals. Under 3 years of age the capsule may be opened and the powder mixed with water. Children under 2 years of age are prescribed 1 unit 3 times. Up to 12 years of age, 1-2 capsules 3 times. Adults take 2 units 3 times. The course of treatment depends on the severity of symptoms.

Drugs are similar in many ways, but you can also observe clear differences that determine the choice. For intestinal infections, salmonellosis, when antibiotic therapy is carried out, it is better to use Normobakt. The drug neutralizes the effects of poisoning, gradually bringing the composition of the microflora back to normal.
Both drugs are used in pediatrics. Linex is considered a more gentle means for children, but Normobakt is more convenient to give to a child. Both products may seem useless if you do not follow the instructions and do not take the full course of treatment.
Linex and Normobakt – aids in restoring microflora. The main measure, however, will be a dietary diet. Drugs are available without a prescription from a doctor, but first you need to visit a specialist and find out which remedy will be better in a particular case.
